Dr. Matthew Isaac is the Associate Vice Chancellor of the Economic Development and Corporate Training Division of the San Bernardino Community College District. As the Associate Vice Chancellor, he is responsible for providing leadership for the economic and workforce development programs of the District. Dr. Isaac's previous assignments at the District included serving as the District Executive Director of Economic Development and Corporate Training, Director of Economic Development and Corporate Training, Director of the Professional Development Center, Director of the Center for Business Excellence and Director of the Institute for Training and Development at San Bernardino Valley College. Before joining the District, Dr. Isaac served as a faculty member of Humanities, Director of Health Care Programs and the Director of the Division of Contract Education at the University of Toledo in Ohio. As the divisional director at the University, Dr. Isaac was responsible for administering the delivery of undergraduate and graduate degree programs to Ford, GM and Chrysler plants in Ohio and Michigan.

Dr. Isaac has received several leadership awards during his career. The most notable among the awards were: the prestigious 2012 Excellence in Leadership Award from the California Community College Association of Occupational Education (CCCAOE); the 2003 Economic Development Excellence Award from the California Community Colleges; the prestigious 1998 Program Excellence Award from the Ohio Continuing Higher Education Association for providing leadership in delivering outstanding corporate training programs to the Ford Motor Company; and, the John J. Turin Award for leadership from the University of Toledo, Ohio. During his tenure, he authored or provided direct leadership for receiving over $10 million in grant funds from state and federal government or corporate agencies.

Dr. Isaac has appeared several times on TWC/CNN TV/Southern California News with Leslie Leyton to discuss Economic and Workforce Development and Nanotechnology. In addition, he was featured on the Live KVCR TV Show entitled ?Green Works,? and KCSB TV, KTIE, KVCR TV, KVCR Radio and Big Bear TV Channel 6 to discuss Economic and Workforce Development. He has given speeches at regional, statewide and national forums on the following topics: Economic and Workforce Development, Green Workforce Education and Training, Poverty and Education, Human Capital Development, Mobilizing/Involvement of Campus Resources, and India: An Emerging Economic Giant. He was also an invited presenter in the hearing of the California Senate Select Committee on Urban Economic Development held by Senator Soto in Ontario City Hall on the ?Role of area Community Colleges in Educating the Workers of Tomorrow.?

Dr. Isaac earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Master of Arts (M.A.) and Master of Arts and Education (M.A. Ed.) degrees from the University of Toledo in Ohio, a Master of Arts (M.A.) from Christ Church College, Kanpur, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Kerala University, India.
